Artificial Wreath Care Instructions

Artificial wreaths on a front door are so inviting, especially those with faux florals. They will bring the glamour of natural blooms to your house in any season. In order to keep them clear and tidy, a proper care is needed. But you may be wondering how to care for your wreath. Here are a few helpful tips that will make your wreath good as new.

1. Do not expose the artificial wreath to direct sunlight and extreme weather conditions.
Some artificial wreaths are only for indoor use. Before hanging them outside, remember to check if they are marked “Outdoor Safe”. Do not put them in direct sunlight all the daytime even they are crafted with UV protection. Because continuous sunlight will cause fading and bleeding. In case of any harsh inclement weather such as storms with strong wind and rain, you’d better bring the wreath inside to keep it in good condition.

2. Cleaning your wreath when needed.
If your plastic wreath isn’t that dirty, you can gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth. However, a more thorough washing for a filthier one. The frequency of cleaning depends on the location and weather conditions. Normally, a weekly cleaning for outdoor wreaths and a biweekly cleaning for indoor wreaths. Sometimes you can use a vacuum cleaner or a fabric duster as an alternative. Using a damp cloth to avoid spreading dust inside your house and soapy water for stubborn stains if needed.
Note: If your artificial wreaths are pre-lit, be careful not to tug on or remove the light strings.

3. Proper storage helps to keep the wreath clean and in a good shape.
Make sure to clean the wreaths before storing. Keep your wreath in shape with a durable padded storage bag or an airtight plastic container. When necessary, use separate containers for each piece to protect its shape. Choose a good storage place for your wreath, away from heat, light and humidity.
